Information we collect

How AI and other services are used
When you use fridge recognition, the photo is sent to our server and an external AI provider for ingredient recognition. Recipe generation also uses an external AI provider and may include your budget, preferences, dietary restrictions, and available ingredients. AI output can be inaccurate; check food safety and allergens before cooking. We use third-party services for sign-in, payments, push notifications, hosting, and recipe imagery. Those providers receive the information needed for their service and may process it under their own terms.
Sharing and tracking
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising tracking. We share data with service providers only to operate the features described above, respond to legal requirements, or protect the service. Mealva does not request access to your contacts or precise location.
Storage and deletion
We keep account and planning information while your account is active. Fridge photos are handled as temporary processing files; confirmed ingredient data and related records may remain in your account until they expire or you delete the account. Operational logs and records required for security, accounting, payment disputes, or legal compliance may be retained for the necessary period. Deleting your account removes your profile and Mealva planning data from the active account. You can delete your account in the app under Me → Delete account, or request deletion at mealva.app/delete-account.
Your choices
You can edit preferences, turn off reminders, revoke notification permission in your device settings, and delete your account. To ask for access, correction, or deletion of information, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
Security and international processing
We use encrypted connections for production app traffic and limit access to account information. Data may be processed in locations where our hosting and service providers operate. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children and changes
Mealva is intended for adults and is not directed at children. If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and its effective date. Questions: [email protected].
